The worst thing that can happen at a convention, company meeting or Kick Off is when the audience disconnects, and instead of paying attention, start doodling, playing with their Smartphone or tablet, or making faces; the worst thing that can happen is when communication is not effective. The return on the investment ends up being next to nothing: Something that convention participants cannot stand is when it is boring, tedious and dense, or in other words, unbearable. A convention is very serious, but it should never be boring.
